The 4D’s of “Design Thinking” – Discover, Design, Develop, and Deliver – is a useful evaluation framework for consulting or IT projects. It’s non-linear: later stages can prompt revisiting earlier ones or inspire new solutions. During the Discover stage, the team collaboratively researches the problem. In Design, they articulate the issue and define the scope. During Develop, potential solutions are brainstormed. In Deliver, the optimal solution is refined and implemented effectively, on-time, and cost-efficiently. This framework guides the post-engagement debrief, measuring project effectiveness.
